Meet the Coaches

All coaches are fully qualified, insured and vetted by the British Judo Association.  The Head Coach Mark Montgomery 5th Dan, is also a member of the Northern Ireland Institute of Coaching which is a subsidiary of Sport Coach UK. Mark has represented Northern Ireland 4 times at Commonwealth Level winning a 5th place at the Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002. Mark also represented GB in 1999 at Light Heavy Weight and in and 2004 at Heavy Weight.
Martin Sloane (1st Kyu) coaches the junior club with Mark. Martin also runs "Lisburn Judo Club"held at the Lisburn LeisurePlex which is held on Friday evenings where visitors and new members are always welcome.
Mark Spence Helps coach the junior classes with Martin and also helps coach in the junior competition class. Mark is one of only 5 coaches in NI to be trained in the new UK Coaching Certificate Level 1 Provisional Judo Coach Award Scheme..
All coaches are dedicated to their sport and instructing your child or children in the Olympic Sport of Judo.
